Our story

It all began Last September, with my own wedding. We were getting married on a stunning rural property. The property and our wedding venue was owned by close friends, and was very sentimental to both my husband and I. We had a clear vision: rustic & native florals, with forest green, burnt orange and white as our colour scheme. We wanted our wedding to reflect the beauty of the venue & to feel like “us”.

I began the search…and after spending more than 10 years “playing with flowers” (aka making custom floral designs), I thought this was going to be easy…..ahh - no! (is anything easy when it comes to ‘wedding planning’ ??)

I spent day after day scouring the internet and waiting for quotes to roll in. The prices of fresh floral arrangements made me break out into a hot sweat (“how are we ever going to afford this wedding?”). Thinking there had to be a better option, I began researching faux florals. It took what felt like an eternity to find the balance of quality & price (are you nodding in agreement yet?). I decided, I wanted to go faux flowers, I could take my time and make these myself…the flowers weren’t going to die (& I ‘had’ done this a few times before).

The journey began, sourcing the best quality flowers for my bouquets, table decorations, sign decorations, and boutionierres (French for button-holes), along with sourcing stylish decor that felt like “us”.

Mission complete - I really enjoyed the time it took to make the arrangements (yes - it still took a LONG time, even though I had prior floristry experience). My guests were astounded when I told them I made the bridal party florals and all arrangements myself. The guests couldn’t fathom how I managed to pull it off - they thought the florals were fresh/real & were trying to understand how I made them the day before! The compliments rolled in: the flowers, the colour scheme, the styling of our wedding. I was brimming with pride - this was “my” creation, and every bit of our wedding was “US”.

Showing my wedding photos to the Yoga crew I often had coffee with & receiving more compliments, the idea hit, like a tsunami….

Maybe I could do this over and over again - for other brides! I really enjoyed this (the research, the ordering, the design and construction, playing with flowers once again). I loved making unique flowers look stunning & loved the flowers as the star of the show. “WHY DON’T I DO THIS FOR OTHERS ? AND MAKE THEIR WEDDING DAY REPRESENT WHO THEY ‘REALLY’ ARE AS A COUPLE?” (& selfishly, I could re-live the magical wedding feels again and again and again - because who doesn’t love love?).

Sadly, on the same day as my wedding, a friend lost her battle with brain cancer. Immediately, I thought of designing her funeral flowers (which were to be bright, bold and cheerful, celebrating life). So, again, I thought “I COULD PROVIDE MEANINGFUL AND UNIQUE FLOWERS FOR WEDDINGS, FUNERALS, BABY SHOWERS, FORMALS AND MORE”.
